Gallery show, suspected AI art, no credit

An offline gallery slipped in suspected AI pieces with a blank credit line, while real artists hunted for their own brushwork in the comments.

On the second day, illustrators recognized familiar compositions — six fingers, a smudged earring, pupils that never quite line up. They hung in frames under a “fresh talent” label, with the artist field left blank.

The gallery's response was tidy: we can't be sure either. But BenPig knows that “can't be sure” is the best charm an AI image can wear — as long as nobody admits it, nobody has to credit it, and nobody has to pay.

So BenPig pulled out a magnifying glass and went frame by frame: why highlights vanish, why text warps, why metal reflections ignore physics. It boiled the tells down to a few hard clues anyone can check.
